Recap: Monument Valley Cougars vs. Red Mesa Redskins
The Monument Valley Cougars entered their tilt with the Red Mesa Redskins with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Monument Valley put the hurt on Red Mesa with a sharp 61-41 victory on Tuesday. Monument Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Nevaeh Wilson, who scored 21 points. Shimequa Hudson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the loss, Red Mesa still got an impressive performance from Daleni Nakai, who scored 14 points.
Monument Valley pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Red Mesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.
Monument Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitehorse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitehorse has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 295 points over their last four contests. Red Mesa's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Fredonia's defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so Red Mesa's offense will have their work cut out for them.
