Basketball Recap: Innovation Takes a Loss

Innovation won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 66-31 defeat at the hands of the East River Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while the Falcons are ranked 106th).

Despite the loss, Innovation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaleb Bielski went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Innovation dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for East River, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Innovation has already played their next contest, a 60-26 loss against Boone on the 17th. As for East River, they will head out on the road to square off against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. East River is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
