Baseball Game Preview: Bell City Cubs vs. Richland Bears

The Bell City Cubs and the Richland Bears will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle. Bell City's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Bell City's offense. They fell just short of Woodland by a score of 2-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Richland won against Summersville on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Richland was the clear victor by a 12-5 margin over Steelville. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on London Smith, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Richland is 2-1 when Smith posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Connor Pallai also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bell City's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Richland, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
