Softball Game Preview: Prosper Eagles vs. Princeton Panthers

The Prosper Eagles will face off against the Princeton Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Prosper has six straight wins, Princeton has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Prosper had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Allen on Friday. Prosper blew past Allen 12-4. Prosper might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Princeton's offense. They came up short against Plano West on Friday, falling 12-0.

Prosper pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1.

Everything went Prosper's way against Princeton when the teams last played back in February of 2016, as Prosper made off with a 13-7 win. Will Prosper repeat their success, or does Princeton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
