Football Recap: Gahr Starts Season with Victory Against Ayala

Gahr took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They took down the Ayala Bulldogs 19-0.

Camarra Brown-Stanton was the offensive standout of the game as she picked up 96 receiving yards and one TD. She also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. MaryJayne Brenes got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Gahr didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brenes, Brown-Stanton, and Brooke Omar picked up one apiece. Brenes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Ayala's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Gahr didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-0 victory against Cabrillo on the 13th. As for Ayala, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-6 defeat against Yorba Linda on the 13th.
