Basketball Game Preview: Wayne County Cardinals vs. Lincoln County Patriots

Wayne County and Lincoln County are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Wayne County Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wayne County, who comes in off a win.

Wayne County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 72-56 victory over Pineville on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County ended up a good deal behind Boyle County on Friday and lost 48-33. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Lincoln County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11-1.

Wayne County beat Lincoln County 47-39 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
