Basketball Game Preview: Western Warriors vs. Jeffersontown Chargers

The Western Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Jeffersontown Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Western had to suffer through a 78-44 loss at the hands of Butler. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Bears are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, Jeffersontown entered their tilt with Fern Creek on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their game with ease, bagging a 65-38 victory over the Tigers. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Western and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Jeffersontown, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

Western came up short against Jeffersontown when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 69-62. Can Western avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
