Basketball Recap: Millers Creek Christian Lions vs. Community Baptist Conqueror
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Millers Creek Christian Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Community Baptist 54-51. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for 42 points.
Millers Creek Christian was led to victory by JADYN COTHREN and KENNEDY MARSH. COTHREN scored 17 points along with three steals, while MARSH scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points MARSH has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of JULIE LAYAOU, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds.
Millers Creek Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Community Baptist, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Triad Baptist Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Millers Creek Christian will head out to face the Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Conqueror will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
