Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions vs. Safford Bulldogs
The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions won the last time they faced the Safford Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy secured a 19-14 W over Safford.
Leading Pusch Ridge Christian Academy to victory were Bubba Mustain and Jacob Newborn. Mustain rushed for 83 yards, while Newborn gained 245 total yards.
Safford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Manuel Dawson, who rushed for 126 yards. Dawson's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo Ruelas, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Safford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blue Ridge is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Safford, they will challenge Mohave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
