Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran Lions vs. Cheyenne Mountain Hawks

For the second straight game, Lutheran will face off against Cheyenne Mountain. The Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Lutheran proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Cheyenne Mountain 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lutheran got a great performance from Cade Stephanich as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Stephanich a new career-high.

At the plate, Christopher Delcambre was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Anthony Misch, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Cheyenne Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
