Volleyball Recap: Beaufort's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, Beaufort's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilton Head Island Seahawks. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Seahawks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Beaufort was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hilton Head Island work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24.

Erin Crosby paced Beaufort's offense, picking up four kills. Crosby were helped by Camille Giblin and Alyson Dennison, who contributed four assists each. Dennison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Beaufort's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Hilton Head Island, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season.

Coincidentally, Beaufort and Hilton Head Island will both be playing Bridges Prep the next time they take the court. The Seahawks will host the Buccaneers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
