Basketball Recap: Veterans Memorial Comes Up Short

Veterans Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The match between them and the New Braunfels Unicorns didn't end well, with the Veterans Memorial Patriots falling 55-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-29 back in December of 2024.

Ryler Wilson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 19 boards for New Braunfels. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alyana Mcgarity, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for New Braunfels, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-16.

Veterans Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 93-28 loss against Wagner on the 24th. New Braunfels has also already played their next game, a 62-49 win against Smithson Valley on the 24th.
