Baseball Game Preview: Havelock Rams vs. McMichael Phoenix

The Havelock Rams will head out to square off against the McMichael Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Havelock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Havelock got the win against Dixon by a conclusive 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brady Munson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Austin Livingston was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Champion, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, McMichael waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cougars. The game was the first time the Phoenix have beaten the Cougars on their field since March 18, 2022.

Havelock's record is now 8-3. As for McMichael, their record now sits at 12-2.
