Basketball Game Preview: Grandview Zebras vs. Maypearl Panthers

The Grandview Zebras will square off against the Maypearl Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Grandview and seven for Maypearl.

Grandview's tournament run continued when they took on Lake Belton on Saturday. Grandview fell to Lake Belton 47-43.

Meanwhile, Maypearl might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Keene an easy 68-48 victory. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1353rd, while the Chargers are ranked 394th).

Maypearl's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Grandview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Grandview didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Maypearl in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. Will Grandview repeat their success, or does Maypearl have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
