Softball Game Preview: Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets vs. Leipsic Vikings

Cory-Rawson is 0-3 against Leipsic since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Fighting Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cory-Rawson's last matchup with North Baltimore could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Fighting Hornets came up short against the Tigers, falling 21-11.

Addison Inbody and Hazel Dixon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Inbody went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Dixon went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Willow Hailey, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Leipsic fell victim to Arcadia and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 13-0 to the Redskins. The game marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Leipsic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Schroeder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Schroeder has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Leipsic's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cory-Rawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Cory-Rawson couldn't quite finish off Leipsic when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 8-6. Can the Fighting Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
