Softball Recap: Hubbard Starts Season with Win Against Mckinley

Hubbard had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the McKinley Red Dragons get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Haleigh Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Hubbard let Cara Green and Lauren Komorek run wild. Green scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Komorek went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Hubbard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 victory against Mathews on the 27th. As for McKinley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-2 loss against Hubbard on the 28th.
