Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers vs. Glen Oaks Panthers

The St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers will venture away from home to take on the Glen Oaks Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-11, which was the final score in St. Joseph's Academy's tilt against Broadmoor on Tuesday. The game marked the Redstickers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Glen Oaks didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Northshore on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Glen Oaks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Northshore is ranked 34th).

The win got Glen Oaks back to even at 5-5. As for St. Joseph's Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

St. Joseph's Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Glen Oaks in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph's Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
