Basketball Recap: Jan Berke's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Winston Salem Christian Silver over Accelerate Academy

Winston Salem Christian Silver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 78-56 to the Accelerate Academy Blue Aces.

Winston Salem Christian Silver's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jan Berke, who shot 62% from the field en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mart? Bacardit, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Carson McKenney produced another solid performance dropping a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists for Accelerate Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Kanneh, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards.

Winston Salem Christian Silver now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Accelerate Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Winston Salem Christian Silver will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oak Hill Academy International at 5:30 p.m. on the 9th. As for Accelerate Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-24 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 22nd.
