Basketball Recap: Joreim Lomax's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brownsburg over Westfield

Brownsburg played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Westfield Shamrocks, falling 57-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Shamrocks are ranked tenth).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joreim Lomax, who posted five points. Michael Addison also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Drew Haffner was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 8 en route to 18 points for Westfield. Jalen Malone was another key player, putting up nine points.

Brownsburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Westfield, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Brownsburg has already played their next game (against Carmel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-33 victory against Muncie Central on the 25th.
