Soccer Recap: Powell Comes Up Short

After flying high against Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday, Powell came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 20, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Powell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hardin Valley Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Powell will take on Bearden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hardin Valley Academy, they will challenge Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cleveland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.
