Basketball Recap: McCall-Donnelly Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against McDermitt on Thursday, McCall-Donnelly came back down to earth. The Vandals took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Plymouth Pilgrims on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pilgrims this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-54 last Wednesday.

When it comes to explaining why McCall-Donnelly lost, don't look at Sam Scott. Despite the final result, he posted 30 points. The game was Scott's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Michael Pellerin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

McCall-Donnelly dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Plymouth, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

McCall-Donnelly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-54 loss against Nampa on the 13th. New Plymouth will take on Nampa Christian in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pilgrims will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
