Basketball Game Preview: Bayside Marlins vs. Landstown Eagles

The Bayside Marlins will head out on the road to take on the Landstown Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bayside is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 57 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Salem on Friday. They were dealt an 84-6 defeat at the hands of the Sundevils. While losing is never fun, the Marlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Sundevils are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Landstown was beaten by Princess Anne 86-30 on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bayside dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Landstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Bayside came up short against Landstown in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 46-33. Can Bayside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
