The Laurel Hill Hoboes will square off against the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Laurel Hill turned things around against Poplar Springs on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Atomics. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hoboes considering their one-run performance the match before.
Savannah Riley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Andrea Barnhill was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kyndall Morrill was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Laurel Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rocky Bayou Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Lions.
Like Laurel Hill, Rocky Bayou Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Skyler Dill-Langley. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Dill-Langley was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-2. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Rocky Bayou Christian got a massive performance out of Ellie Olson, who scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Krystal Mercer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.
Rocky Bayou Christian pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Laurel Hill, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
