Softball Recap: Malad Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Malad put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Marsh Valley Eagles as Malad made off with a 15-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won three games by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Liddia Gonzalez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Malad got a massive performance out of Riglee Peterson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Peterson hit this season. Another player making a difference was Teagan Daniels, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-4.

Malad pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 11 runs thus far As for Marsh Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malad beat Marsh Valley by a score of 13-3 later that day.
