Basketball Recap: Clarke Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sparta Academy back in December of 2024, Clarke Prep came back down to earth. The Clarke Prep Gators fell 40-32 to the Springwood Wildcats on Thursday. The loss was the Gators' first of the season.

Tori Patillo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Springwood, going 7-for-11 on her way to 17 points. Patillo is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Shalexia Little was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clarke Prep fell to 3-1. As for Springwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-1.

Clarke Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-29 win against Lowndes Academy on the 14th.
