Basketball Recap: Dighton Takes a Loss

Dighton was the 61-47 winner over Wheatland-Grinnell when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dighton Hornets took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wheatland-Grinnell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliviah Ball led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Natalie Bixenman was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points along with six boards and five assists.

Dighton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Dighton will square off against St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, they will challenge Northern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
