Cumberland faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Clippers skirted past the Townies 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Townies: they've now won three in a row.

Andrew Nocera made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Ray, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Josh Lyon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Cumberland's record is now 18-5. As for East Providence, they dropped their record down to 14-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
