Recap: Three Forks/Willow Creek Wolves vs. Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs
The Three Forks/Willow Creek Wolves fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson 40-22 on Saturday.
Shane Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 236 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per carry. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Colten Hayder made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Another reason for the win was Three Forks/Willow Creek's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's QB won't forget Dylan Andersen anytime soon given Andersen sacked him six times.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Treyton Wilke, who gained 116 total yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Downing, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Three Forks/Willow Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Three Forks/Willow Creek will head out on the road to face off against Red Lodge/Roberts at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Lodge/Roberts is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
