Augusta gave up the first  runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They blew past the Drummond Lumberjacks 15-1. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Laney O'Brien made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Cecelia Schroeder and  Brooklyn Krueger did most of the damage at the plate:  Schroeder  fired off three  runs, three  doubles,  and four  RBI while going 4-for-4, while  Krueger  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  doubles gave  Schroeder a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Haley Strauch, who  got on base  in two of her three plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
Augusta pushed their record up to 10-7 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Drummond,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-7.
 Coming up, Augusta is taking a road trip to  face off against Melrose-Mindoro  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Drummond, they will square off against Mellen at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks will need to watch out since the Granite Diggers have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three contests.
