Basketball Recap: Woodward Comes Up Short

Woodward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 49-15 loss at the hands of the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals. The Polar Bears were probably out for revenge after losing 44-18 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cardinal Stritch found their leader in sophomore Amaya Hill, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 boards. Hill is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Sydney Miller was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Woodward's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cardinal Stritch, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Woodward will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bowsher at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Cardinal Stritch, they will be playing at home against Northwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
