Football Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Daingerfield

Daingerfield came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Hooks Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 76-59. The Tigers pushed the score to 70-47 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of Daingerfield's win came down to the chemistry between Isaiah Parker and his top target Reign Wallace. Parker threw for 408 yards and seven TDs while picking up 15.1 yards per attempt while Wallace gained 286 total yards and six touchdowns. Thanks to that big game, Parker is now up to 26 passing touchdowns on the season. Mason Williams did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 55 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Hooks still got an impressive performance from Ripken Birdwell, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards and one score. Birdwell also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making eight total tackles.

Daingerfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Hooks, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Daingerfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-16 win against Hughes Springs on the 23rd. As for Hooks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-14 victory against New Boston on the 24th.
