Deer Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills lost 10-1 to Deer Valley on Monday. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Estrella Foothills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alec Schaeffer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Estrella Foothills' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for Deer Valley, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Deer Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Estrella Foothills struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Deer Valley took their win against Estrella Foothills in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
