Basketball Recap: La Jolla Takes a Loss + How To Watch

La Jolla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 66-40 to the Otay Ranch Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while the Mustangs are ranked 209th).

When it comes to explaining why La Jolla lost, don't look at Soila Chadwick. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mehek Ansari, who posted ten points.

La Jolla's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Otay Ranch, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, La Jolla will take on Sage Creek in a tournament on Saturday. As for Otay Ranch, they will face off against San Diego at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
