Softball Recap: Millard Starts Season with Victory Against Delta

Millard took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 13-10 win over the Delta Rabbits. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rabbits recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Macie Wade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklin Reid, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jansie Chlarson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Millard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only posted an OBP of .343.

Coming up, Millard will head out to challenge South Summit at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Delta, they will square off against Kanab at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
