Basketball Game Preview: Gates Chili Spartans vs. Greece Athena Trojans

Gates Chili is 1-7 against Greece Athena since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gates Chili Spartans will take on the Greece Athena Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Gates Chili has given up an average of 59.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Gates Chili is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They secured a 67-62 W over Mendon.

Meanwhile, Greece Athena had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 76-50 margin over the Titans. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Gates Chili now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Greece Athena, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.

Gates Chili took a serious blow against Greece Athena when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 81-51. Can Gates Chili avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
