Walled Lake Central will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Mott, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Walled Lake Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over Mott on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since December 21, 2023.

Meanwhile, Milford entered their tilt with Walled Lake Northern on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 41-30 win over the Knights. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Knights are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Walled Lake Central's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points over those games. As for Milford, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
