Softball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

Hampshire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to the Moorefield Yellow Jackets. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2018.

Charly Ashton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Peyton Billmeyer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hampshire's record now sits at 0-15. As for Moorefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Hampshire will challenge Bridgeport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Moorefield, they will host Berkeley Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
