Meanwhile, Yoakum unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to Edna.
Yoakum started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-9, 26-24, 25-20.
Columbus has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. As for Yoakum, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.
Everything went Columbus' way against Yoakum in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 as Columbus made off with a 3-0 victory.
