Basketball Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

Cairo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 42-30 to the Brooks County Trojans. The game was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Syrupmakers couldn't quite close it out.

Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Brooks County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Cairo will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Brooks County, they will take on Valdosta in a tournament on Thursday. Valdosta will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Brooks County surely won't give up without a fight.
