Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Takes a Loss

Wiregrass Ranch extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-5. They came up short against the Gaither Cowboys, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Bulls were not able to get on the board.

As for Gaither, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Considering they have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Gaither's part, Noah Lockler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Lockler has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Deak, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Rosario, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wiregrass Ranch will welcome Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cobras have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Gaither, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
