Football Game Preview: Kent-Meridian Royals vs. Auburn Mountainview Lions

The Kent-Meridian Royals are taking a road trip to challenge the Auburn Mountainview Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kent-Meridian's offense hasn't had much luck over their past four contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kent-Meridian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against White River on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Royals took a blow against the Hornets, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Hornets are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Auburn Mountainview's offense. They were outmatched by Enumclaw and fell 42-0. The Lions have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Auburn Mountainview now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Kent-Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Kent-Meridian came up short against Auburn Mountainview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 7-0. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
