Basketball Recap: Preston Comes Up Short

Preston lost against Pocatello two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Preston Indians were beaten by the Pocatello Thunder 70-36. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Thunder are ranked eighth).

Pocatello can attribute much of their success to Taylee Rogers, who went 7-for-12 on her way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Rogers a new career-high. Alivia Marshall was another key player, putting up seven points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Pocatello, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Preston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-19 win against Century on the 11th. As for Pocatello, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-49 victory against Preston on the 13th.
