Baseball Recap: Peru Comes Up Short

Peru was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the Huntington North Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Lucas Musser made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Reis Bellar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Peru's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Huntington North, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peru will welcome Frontier at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Huntington North, they will challenge Warsaw at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
