Basketball Recap: Ridgewood Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ridgewood can now relate to. The matchup between them and the Bellaire Big Reds didn't end well, with the Ridgewood Generals falling 54-40. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Big Reds are ranked 130th).

Zara Harveth was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-15 to rack up 22 points and five boards for Bellaire. Thanks to that strong game, Harveth now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Kayla Edgar was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Bellaire, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5.

Ridgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bellaire, they will challenge Fort Frye at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bellaire is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
