Softball Recap: Barron Collier Takes a Loss

Barron Collier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 19-5 to the Gulf Coast Sharks. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gianna Frino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheila Forbes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Barron Collier hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

Barron Collier's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Gulf Coast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Barron Collier Cougars face off against Estero Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gulf Coast, they will square off against Lely at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
