Softball Game Preview: Glencoe Yellowjackets vs. Hokes Bluff Eagles

Glencoe is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to take on the Hokes Bluff Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Glencoe has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Glencoe is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Gadsden City.

Meanwhile, Hokes Bluff beat Ashville 5-1 on Monday. The Eagles have beaten the Bulldogs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Hokes Bluff's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Glencoe suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Hokes Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Glencoe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
