Not much got past JORDYNN PARNELL, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Hoggard off the board. PARNELL has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, South View secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was KAYLIE COOK, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, D.H. Conley was able to grind out a solid victory over Jack Britt on Tuesday, taking the game 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Jack Britt's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendall Howard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up a single walk).
At the plate, Harper Bradley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gaddis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
D.H. Conley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
South View pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for D.H. Conley, their record now sits at 18-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like D.H. Conley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11 strikeouts.
