Basketball Recap: Liberty Skates Past Edison with Ease

Liberty lost to Edison back in November of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Liberty Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Edison Vikings 87-53. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Edison saw an underclassman step up: freshman Alonzo Ward posted 14 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Devin Finister, who had five points.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Edison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Liberty will square off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edison, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-53 win against Willow Glen on the 11th.
