Volleyball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Florence couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Newman Catholic Fighting Cardinals on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bobcats have struggled against the Fighting Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-23, 25-23.

Kelsi Chrisman paced Florence's offense, picking up ten kills. Chrisman got some help from Sami Demuri and her nine assists. Ashlyn VanDenHeuvel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 31-15. As for Newman Catholic, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-16.

Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newman Catholic, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Rib Lake on the 8th.
