Basketball Recap: Open Door Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Christian Academy of Louisiana

Open Door Christian Academy extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-5. They fell 56-43 to the Christian Academy of Louisiana Crusaders. On the bright side, the 43- point effort marked the Conquerors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the defeat, Open Door Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaxon Sandlin dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. Sandlin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Brock Reneau was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Christian Academy of Louisiana's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Christian Academy of Louisiana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Holden Robertson led the charge by posting 17 points along with eight assists and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Dorsey, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 19 rebounds.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Open Door Christian Academy and Christian Home Educators Fellowship will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. The Conquerors will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christian Academy of Louisiana, they will take on Midstate Homeschool at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
